Your spreadsheet has 4 rows. With a Pro account you generate all of them at once, with your own template. Create a free account →
Write the document once with variables where the data changes: name, amounts, dates. Add formulas, conditions and your letterhead.
An Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file with one row per document. Columns are matched to the template variables by their titles; you can adjust them.
You get a ZIP with one PDF per row, each named after the column you choose, or a single PDF with all of them, plus a report of every row.
One invoice per client or per order, with totals, VAT and the amount in words worked out by the template.
Attendance or completion certificates for a whole course from the list of attendees.
The same contract for each client or employee, with their details and only the clauses that apply.
Personalised letters, notices or reminders, ready to send as PDF.
One report per site, inspection or client from the results in your spreadsheet.
Quotes with their lines and conditions, each one with its own number.
Word’s mail merge works, but it was designed for printed letters. This is what changes when the goal is PDF documents.
| Feature | Word mail merge | Documentemplate |
|---|---|---|
| One PDF per row | Merges into one document; splitting it into PDFs needs a macro or an add-in | One PDF per row named after a column, or all in one |
| Calculations | Limited formula fields, set up by hand | Formulas in the template: totals, VAT, amount in words |
| Shared data (VAT rate, company details) | Repeated in each document or each file | Global constants: change them once and every template follows |
| Text that depends on the data | IF fields, written by hand | Sections and blocks that show only when a condition is met |
| From another program | No | REST API: send the spreadsheet, download the ZIP |
| What you need | Word installed | A browser |
Batch generation is part of the Pro plan (€5/month): up to 500 documents per batch. With the free plan you can design templates and generate documents one by one. Pricing
The same batch generation is available through the API: your system sends the spreadsheet and the template id, waits for the batch and downloads the ZIP. Useful for monthly invoices or anything that comes from your own software.
Read the API documentation →Create your free account, design the template and try it with your own data.

Up to 500 per batch on the Pro plan. If you need more, split the spreadsheet into several batches.
Yes: choose the column that names each file (for example, the client’s name). If you don’t, the column that looks like a name is used, or the row number.
Yes, with the REST API: send the spreadsheet and the template id and download the ZIP when the batch is ready. It is part of the Pro plan.
